A price alert is a rule set on a charting platform - such as “notify me if Nifty 50 crosses above 25,000” - that automatically sends a notification the moment the specified condition is met. It removes the need to watch a chart continuously, waiting for a specific level or indicator condition to occur, and is the simplest, alert-only end of the trading automation spectrum.
